When is the best time to mediate?

Once it has been established that a breakdown in communication, cooperation and/or understanding has occurred between parties which is impacting their ability to carry out their role efficiently it is appropriate to consider mediation as a tool to resolve the conflict. Mediation offers the opportunity to look at the issues and find different ways of resolving these to enable parties to work together in a harmonious and effective manner. Often strategies are adopted to avoid problems from reoccurring again or escalating further.
